Will I need to leave a security deposit or sign a waiver?SECURITY DEPOSIT: You do not have to leave a refundable security deposit for the value of the kayak or SUP you rent, however, you will be asked to leave a security item such as a CC, or drivers license and car keys, to ensure the safe return of equipment on time and in the condition it was rented to you. If you do not choose to do so, you may be asked to make a security deposit instead. WAIVER: You will be able to fill out an online Waiver right at our Kiosk or you can save time when you rent by filling it ahead of time (see our page Rent or our website footer). Only one person from your group or family need to fill this out and it is one time only... you won't need to sign it next time you visit. The signer will, however, need to be responsible for the equipment and for anyone they share the equipment with. They will also be required to fill out an Equipment Agreement providing us with some information and what equipment you'll be renting. We will help provide additional safety and usage tips for your equipment, however, you do need to have the knowledge, experience and ability to engage safety in paddling. You will do a quick check of all the equipment before you head to the water. Have fun! Drop in at our beachside rental kiosk and we'll make it simple and easy for you to rent a paddleboard or a kayak or canoe... Choose your kayak, canoe or SUP. Our World Paddleboard Certified Instructors can help you choose what's right for you. All the extra safety and paddle accessories you need to paddle and for safety will come with your rental at no extra cost. Although you will have to return before closing if you are renting hourly, you will only pay for the length of time you have the equipment. You will pay when you return. There may be late fees if you are past closing. See our "What if I can't make it back in time?" question in our FAQ.

"What accessories come with my rental?"You need a paddle, either to kayak, canoe or to standup paddleboard (SUP). This comes with your rental at no cost. There will be instructions on how to measure and hold a paddle on the Safety Rule board at the rental kiosk. If you are renting a SUP, you will need a leash that will connect your leg with your board. This is not a Transport Canada requirement, but it is a requirement to rent from us. It may be the most important accessory you will have to protect you if you fall off. It will keep you from being separated from your SUP. You will need Safety Accessories required by Transport Canada. Everything you need will come with your rental at no extra cost including: A certified Universal Size PFD (lifejacket) will come with your rental. If you need a different size we MAY have one available, however you will be responsible for choosing one and ensuring it fits your needs. This will not be an extra cost. Subject to availability we may have additional PFDs available for rent. YOU MUST WEAR YOUR PFD AT ALL TIMES ON THE WATER. While there are Transport Canada exceptions by law, we require you to agree to do this and require you to ensure that anyone you share the equipment with is also wearing a properly fitted PFD. A marine whistle. You should wear this at all times as well. One will be attached to your PFD when you rent or in the case of a kayak or canoe will be in your Safety Kit. In an emergency, blow three blasts on your whistle. If you are renting a kayak or canoe a Safety Kit will also come with your rental. It will contain a flashlight, tow rope, whistle and a bailing bucket. Although this is not required, we strongly advise you to carry a mobile phone with you while you paddle for the following reasons... for your safety in the event of an emergency to call us or 911; to enable us to reach you while you are paddling if weather conditions change; or if you are late; or if we are concerned for your safety, or if we are forced to close early and need to make arrangements for drop off of your equipment. you will want to take photos of your adventure. We realize you may be concerned with your phone's safety on the water. We will make available to you at no cost the loan of a high quality Joto certified waterproof, floating mobile phone pouch you can wear around your neck. This is only available at no cost to one person in your group or family. For double protection of your phone we can also provide ziploc bags. Extra pouches are available for sale as well.
